MARQUETERIE DINING TABLE
Entwined wood,
the veins speak on our behalf,
within oak’s grain.
STORY OF A PIECE
INFORMATIONS
The Marqueterie Dining Table
pays homage to the great tables
around which one lingers.
It draws inspiration
from ancestral savoir-faire,
and the marquetry of André-Charles Boulle,
perfected for Louis XIV.
Alive with asymmetry,
the oak is cut with a scalpel,
like a landscape of slivers.
Each leaf is laid with patience,
the invisible reaming
dissolving into the grain.
Two tinted oak legs,
architectural forms carved in hollow,
rest upon small natural-wood plates.
Structured and welcoming,
it asserts itself without ostentation -
through proportion
and the beauty of detail.
This is a table for gathering,
where the oak holds in its memory
the bursts of laughter
and joyful silences.
