The Pointe Stool

carries the memory

of a journey to Thailand,

Carved from solid oak,

hand-sanded,

it rests on four rounded legs

that skim the floor,

giving it a lively, 

almost weightless stability -

it stands like a dancer.

The seat is clad

in three layers of leather,

its center worn smooth,

like a polished stone.

 

Poised, slender, focused,

it does not impose, it supports.

A fleeting point of balance,

for those who dance,

shape, or wait.

A stool like a moment,

holding the body’s breath,

and the impulse of a gesture

ready to move again.
